A community dedicated to Bitcoin, the currency of the Internet. Bitcoin is a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no government, company, or bank in charge of Bitcoin. You might be interested in Bitcoin if you like cryptography, distributed peer-to-peer systems, or economics. A large percentage of Bitcoin enthusiasts are libertarians, though people of all political philosophies are welcome.

Do you agree with the following article: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/From_address

Its central contention is in the first sentence:
Bitcoin addresses are used to receive payments, but not to send them: there is no concept of a "from" address in Bitcoin.

Is there any way to get a Bitcoin address less than 30 digits long?

So according to the wiki, bitcoin addresses can be 27-34 digits long. I need an address that's 30 digits or less. Is there any way to make this happen? Or is it all completely randomly generated?

Vertcoin blockchain as login.

We all know its usual for webs to let you use facebook or whatever in order to validate you to login without the need of registering...
So what if we do something similar but using the blockchain? Some services like an irc bot already uses the sign system to validate a registered nick just letting the bot know you are the owner of a determine bitcoin address by signing a message with your private key. (http://wiki.bitcoin-otc.com/wiki/Bitcoin_address_authentication)
Could be develop something like that for vertcoin? maybe a web service that people could use to implement an easy validation system based on vertcoin blockchain,
Now validation would be just perfect if we had something like Trezor hardware wallet but for vertcoin, as this way, a mecanical button push will be hacking proof security login system, for mail, shop, forums, whatever... but while it arrives... some system service for login so people could implement it in their website could make vertcoin even more valuable, we need new features and services, slteath address was a good point, but looks like we need more ideas and services using vertcoin to make it even more attractive,

u/maxwellhill’s last post

Anybody think it’s a bit weird that u/maxwellhill ‘s last post is about a “Large Star Disappearing Without a Trace” when the user has seemingly done the same thing from Reddit?
With 14m+ karma and being named Gizmodo’s person of the year, maxwellhill really was a star on this website and we have zero idea where he/she went.
Tin foil hat time, Ghislaine Maxwell knew she was going away for a long time and posted that article as an allegory / goodbye to reddit.

Could Bitcoin be the final evolution of money into a purely cashless, digital form? Combined with Biometrics, would create the necessary technological infrastructure for a global cashless ID, the Mark of the Beast, that AI could use for Complete Economic Surveillance and Control over the human race.

👉 Bitcoin and the Blockchain: A Step Closer to The Mark of the Beast 👈
You may not know much about it, but bitcoin and blockchain technology is being used more and more each day. As popular as it is, nobody knows where it came from, and surprisingly very little thought is given to this bitcoin mystery, and who is ultimately in control of the whole thing. Could this technology be used to one day implement the Mark of the Beast (666) of Revelation 13? Are you going to trust in this mysterious system as the solution to the economic problems facing the world, or will you reject the system now, before it becomes too inconvenient to do so?

Bit Coin is the opposite of anonymous.

I see a lot of people are having a hard time understanding bit coin.
Naturally, bit coin the the most tracked and easy to tracked system of money.
It was not created to be secretive. It was created to make a system of money that would stand alone from government and not be susceptible to normal problems with money.
It records every transaction, tied to an account, tied to you.
Any time you want to get money in, or get money out, aka turn bit coin into currency, you tell the world who you are. And all your transactions are recorded.
It’s the type of system a government could easily abuse.

Hang on to that pocket change! Coin shortage in the U. S.

Retailers nationwide are unable to get new coin from the banks, and are left begging customers for change, or worse, demanding exact change for cash purchases. The story is that this is another sad effect from cov19, but I think it's just a convenient way to get everyone on a cashless currency society. What do you think?

COVID-19 is changing our relationship with money and not in a good way..I hope we havn't overlooked the most significant--and arguably most likely--direction in which the world is now heading..the fulfillment of the Mark of the Beast prophecy..

👉 Will COVID-19 Bring About the Death of Cash Payments? 👈
This video examines the Mark of the Beast prophecy of Revelation 13 in relation to the cashless economic system that has been steadily gaining momentum over the past decade, and how the coronavirus pandemic is pushing that system even more quickly than before.

Trump ordered the hack

He's had a hate boner for Twitter for the past several months. This damages their credibility as a platform. Trump wasn't affected, which doesn't let him look vulnerable.
Maybe it's just that simple. Election time 4d chess.
Furthermore: a dumbass Bitcoin hack in broken English makes the event look like some sort of South Asian phishing scam that just went way too well. It puts the blame immediately on twitter.
What would Trump want out of the hack? Dunno, maybe the dms and data of half of the leftist activists/journalists active online. Twitter has been historically uncooperative with government on handing over user data, often to their severe expense.

Bitcoin Address Utility is an open-source program that allows a user to do various useful functions with Bitcoin addresses. It runs natively for Windows, and also runs on Linux and Mac OS X using Mono and available to download on GitHub. Once the client is up and running, it is recommended to create a new bitcoin address that you will use to authenticate to #bitcoin-otc. On the "Receive coins" tab, click the "New address" button, and label it with something that you'll easily recognize (e.g., "bitcoin-otc signing address"). Address reuse refers to the use of the same address for multiple transactions. It is a poor practice, as it reduces the amount of privacy that you and the receiving party of the transaction have. When addresses are reused, they allow others to much more easily and reliably determine that the address being reused is yours. Bitcoin address is an identifier (account number), starting with 1 or 3 and containing 27-34 alphanumeric Latin characters (except 0, O, I). Bitcoin addresses can be also represented as a QR-code. The addresses are anonymous and do not contain information about the owner. A Bitcoin address, or simply address, is an identifier of 26-35 alphanumeric characters, beginning with the number 1 that represents a public key hash to be used in a P2PKH output to create a Bitcoin payment. Bitcoin SV currently utilizes an address format delineated with the prefix number 1. e.g:
