A tutorial for Tails linux, to stay safe on Internet.

I'm not so sure this will be a help or not, quite sure that official guide is more reliable than this. anyway that's what I have here. If this article contains any kinds of misleading or error, please let me know in the comments.
A tutorial for tails linux, to stay safe on the Internet.
In today's circumstances, it's good to put more effort on maintain a low profile on Internet, or atleast learn how to do that.
If you already have a computer at home, you need to consider to use Tails linux if safety is what your concern about.
Access to https://tails.boum.org/ then follow download instructions.
The idea of tails is, it will anonymize your entire connection on Internet by using Tor network. So no one will discover your identity without lots of effort.
Not only that, once you do shutdown your device, it no longer holds any information. That means, other one can't find any evidence from your device.
Also if you still want to storage some text on tails, The easiest way is hide that in online email account.
At first, open text editor that preinstalled in tails. https://www.reddit.com/tails/comments/bm65w7/tails_faq_what_happened_to_the_pgp_clipboard_in/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Then, follow the instruction to encrypt your text by passwords and paste it on email account through tor browser. Do not use that account to communicate to others, just keep it in secret. https://tails.boum.org/doc/encryption_and_privacy/gpgapplet/passphrase_encryption/index.en.html
If you are about to send messages through email, this instruction could be handy. https://tails.boum.org/doc/encryption_and_privacy/gpgapplet/public-key_cryptography/index.en.html You needs to learn about PGP first, tho.use XMPP is the either easier or safer plan.
You can encrypt other type of files by using Archive manager(give a right click on the file), but the computer gets freeze by that occasionally.
I strongly recommend to use Veracrypt hidden volume instead of build a Persistent storage feature, or LUCKS encrypted drive for linux that available on tails for both send/storage purposes.
In that way, you'll get two of passwords for one encrypted storage. If you are forced to reveal your password by others, you have a option to reveal a fake one.
On top of that, if you use another USB for that purpose, you don't have to slow down Tails itself. Persistent storage is tends to be fragile, I occasionally toast an entire data during excessive use. https://www.veracrypt.fen/Hidden%20Volume.html https://tails.boum.org/doc/encryption_and_privacy/veracrypt/index.en.html
You need to use other OSs for create new volumes. Linux is safer than windows I guess, but it takes an effort.
IIRC, you should check "I use hidden volume" radio button during type the password. Otherwise your hidden password doesn't simply work. Don't get confused by that.
Not only that, Tails has the Mac address spoofing function by default. Mac address is the unique identifier for your device. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAC_address
That function also increases anonymity on Internet. it's important when you go outside because even if you killed GPS function on your devices, it still leave a Mac address on wifi router or 3G/LTE cellular module nearby. So someone still can trace your location.
Also just in case if your government decides to not allow you to connect tor network, you should read this article first. https://tails.boum.org/doc/first_steps/startup_options/bridge_mode/index.en.html
But if every each of instruction seems failed to helps you, bring your device(with Mac address spoofing function) outside and connect to the Free wifi. https://freetoursbyfoot.com/where-find-free-wifi-london/
It's relatively safe since either of wifi or device doesn't leave the information that directly leads to you, but be aware on surveillance camera nearby. don't stay there too long, or use one spot too frequently.
I know laptops is too cumbersome to carry around, you have a option to choose something like a windows tablet, a stick pc along with touch screen or a Tv box. not sure on which kind of stuff do the best job unfortunately.
For communication, you need to build the safest/robust assembly point on Internet. The very best option available is XMPP Pidgin chat client.
It's pre-installed in the tails. https://tails.boum.org/doc/anonymous_internet/pidgin/index.en.html As you expected, you can start a group chat. https://superuser.com/questions/1440212/is-there-any-way-to-create-a-group-in-pidgin-like-in-whatsapp
There is couple things you can't do on Tor network or tails Linux.
First, you should read these articles. https://www.hongkiat.com/blog/do-donts-tor-network/amp/ https://tails.boum.org/doc/about/warning/index.en.html https://2019.www.torproject.org/docs/faq.html.en
Since tails is lots more robust than Tor browser bundle on windows, you can ignore the most of issues in Tor browser. Still you have to aware the risk on this.
Not only that, couple of things is getting harder to achieve through Tor.
At first, some website like Twitter, Reddit or YouTube tends to reject to create an account. If that was just a couple of exit nodes, maybe restart the browser might do the trick. https://tor.stackexchange.com/questions/19536/cant-use-reddit-on-tor-what-do-i-do
But if entire exit nodes are rejected by provider, Web based proxy gives you a chance. If that doesn't work, I'd say you should find someone who will to post your messages on viral media.
Secondly, even if you using tails, thats not means you can pay for something anonymously.
If you need to use paid Web base proxy or whatever you want, it's also safer to use anonymous cryptocurrency such as Zcash or monero. not sure how safe are they, pre-installed wallet(Electrum) only supports bitcoin. so you need to use web based wallets.
Or if someone donated a bitcoins to your anonymous wallet, it's safe to use that one through Tor.

PrivateVPN Review - A real shocker

PrivateVPN doesn’t shy away from talking itself up on its website. It makes a whole bunch of bold claims, such as it being the “fastest growing VPN worldwide”.
PrivateVPN also promises to “unlock anything, protect everything” – that’s just what we like to see from a VPN service, but can it possibly deliver on such strong claims?
We put PrivateVPN to the test hoping to answer that question, plus:
Does PrivateVPN work with Netflix? Where is PrivateVPN located? Does PrivateVPN work in China? What is Stealth VPN? And, of course, is PrivateVPN any good? Our unbiased and in-depth review will explain all, but if you’re in a rush you can find our key takeaways just below. Pros Consistently fast speeds No logging & no IP, DNS & WebRTC leaks Works with Netflix, BBC iPlayer & more Torrenting/P2P allowed on all VPN servers Choose from VPN servers in 59 countries User-friendly apps for PC, Mac, iOS, & Android Cons Small number of individual VPN servers No browser VPN extensions No native app for Linux Live chat not always available Works with
Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, BBC iPlayer, Sky, HBO, Torrenting, Kodi
Available on
Windows Mac Ios Android Linux Price from
$2.88/mo
PrivateVPN is one of the best VPNs on the market, there’s no doubt about it. It’s fast, safe and tantalizingly cheap – but it’s not without its flaws. Read on to find out just what to look out for.
Speed & Reliability Very fast speeds across the server network
PrivateVPN provides consistently fast speeds across its VPN server network. Reliably quick uploads and downloads are ideal for both secure torrenting and buffer-free streaming.
Connecting to a same-country server (UK to UK), PrivateVPN only slowed our internet connection down by about 7%.
PrivateVPN is one of the fastest VPNs available – if speed is what you want then it’s a serious contender.
Speed results from our physical location in London (100Mbps fibre optic connection) to a London test server.
Before using PrivateVPN:
DOWNLOAD Mbps 92.94
UPLOAD Mbps 97.54
PING ms 3
When connected to PrivateVPN:
DOWNLOAD Mbps 86.7
UPLOAD Mbps 88.94
PING ms 5
Download speed without PrivateVPN: 92.94Mbps
Download speed with PrivateVPN: 86.70Mbps
Our download speed loss when PrivateVPN is running: 7%
Ping times are low (great for gamers) and upload speeds are high (great for torrenters).
Even across international connections, such as the UK to the US, PrivateVPN is pretty speedy – you’ll be able to do pretty much anything online without breaking a sweat.
Take a look at the average download and upload speeds we recorded connecting out from the UK to PrivateVPN’s servers:
USA: 63Mbps (download) & 25Mbps (upload) Germany: 86Mbps (download) & 56Mbps (upload) Singapore: 32Mbps (download) & 15Mbps (upload) Australia: 18Mbps (download) & 13Mbps (upload) Server Locations Just 150 VPN servers cover 59 countries
Globe with a blue flag 59 Countries Image of a city landscape 75 Cities Image of a pink marker 7,000+ IP Addresses See all Server Locations PrivateVPN’s array of locations (59 countries) and VPN servers is nowhere near the highest we’ve seen, but it’s not as poor as it may first look.
Screenshot of PrivateVPN's beta server list
PrivateVPN offers more than 7,000 individual IP addresses so, despite maintaining just the 150 or so VPN servers, you shouldn’t have to worry about facing congestion or slowdown.
Those 150 VPN servers also do a pretty good job of providing worldwide coverage. There are servers in popular locations like the US, Canada, Australia, and loads of countries in Western Europe, but PrivateVPN also provides plenty of choice in South America and Asia-Pacific.
Those in South and Central America can connect to VPN servers in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Panama.
While Asia has VPN servers in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Israel, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, and the United Arab Emirates.
Disappointingly, Africa is covered by South Africa alone.
PrivateVPN provides city-level choice in eight countries, which is great for experiencing the best speeds:
Australia (2) Canada (2) India (2) Italy (2) Sweden (3) the UK (2) Ukraine (2) the US (9) PrivateVPN uses a mix of physical servers and virtual servers. It owns some of its servers and leases others. While this isn’t ideal, PrivateVPN ensures that those leased servers are not keeping user logs by setting them up themselves and monitoring the servers remotely.
Streaming & Torrenting Works reliably with Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Hulu, and more
PrivateVPN is one of the absolute best VPNs for streaming.
PrivateVPN makes streaming easy by organizing its locations list into servers optimized for accessing certain streaming services like Netflix and BBC iPlayer.
PrivateVPN also has dedicated VPN servers for 18 other streaming channels including:
Amazon Prime ESPN HBO Hulu Sky Torrenting PrivateVPN is a great VPN for torrenting, with P2P allowed on all servers, but there are special servers in 17 countries optimized for that purpose too. You can find these servers under ‘Dedicated IP/Torrent’ within the ‘By Service’ servers list.
PrivateVPN is one of the safest choices for torrenting due to its no-logs policy, host of security features, and fast uploads and downloads.
PrivateVPN is ideal for Kodi, too.
Bypassing Censorship Works reliably in China thanks to Stealth VPN protocol
PrivateVPN is a good VPN for China.
Its advanced privacy tools and Stealth VPN protocol, which hides the fact you’re using a VPN, meaning that PrivateVPN is one of our most reliable VPN choices for China – or for bypassing censorship in any other country, for that matter.
Thanks to the Stealth VPN feature, you can use PrivateVPN in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey too. With plenty of servers in Asia, speeds should remain fast.
PrivateVPN also provides Tor over VPN if you’re looking for an extra layer of security.
Platforms & Devices Simple custom VPN apps for the main platforms
Apps Windows Logo Windows Mac Logo Mac iOS Logo iOS Android Logo Android Linux Logo Linux Router Logo Router PrivateVPN has custom VPN apps for the most popular platforms, including:
Microsoft Windows Apple MacOS iOS Android For any other platforms, like Linux, there are plenty of manual setup guides online to help you through it.
You can connect up to six devices at the same time, which makes PrivateVPN a good choice for those who want to protect not only their devices but their family’s too.
Games Consoles & Streaming Devices AppleTV Logo AppleTV Amazon Fire TV Logo Amazon Fire TV Chromecast Logo Chromecast Nintendo Logo Nintendo PlayStation Logo PlayStation Roku Logo Roku Xbox Logo Xbox On top of custom apps for the four most popular platforms, PrivateVPN provides solutions for smart TVs too.
PrivateVPN is one of very few providers to offer a dedicated VPN app for the Amazon Fire TV Stick, meaning all you have to do is download the app from the store and you’re ready to go.
In order to protect games consoles or any other streaming device, you’ll need to connect them to a configured router or another device running the PrivateVPN app, such as a laptop or smartphone.
Browser Extensions Unlike the majority of our other top-ranking VPNs, PrivateVPN has no browser extensions. This means that there are no add-ons for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, or Safari.
ExpressVPN, for example, provides full-featured VPN extensions for the most popular web browsers. VPN browsers tend to come with added WebRTC leak protection, but thankfully we didn’t experience any leaks during our PrivateVPN tests.
Encryption & Security Very secure VPN with plenty of configurable options
Protocol IKEv2/IPSec
L2TP/IPSec
OpenVPN (TCP/UDP)
PPTP
Encryption AES-256
Security DNS Leak Blocking
First-party DNS
IPV6 Leak Blocking
Supports TCP Port 443
VPN Kill Switch
Advanced features SOCKS
TOR via VPN Server
Please see our VPN Glossary if these terms confuse you and would like to learn more.
It’s not just a name – PrivateVPN really is a truly secure and safe VPN, with lots of advanced features in place to make sure your data and browsing habits are kept as private as possible.
Screenshot of PrivateVPN Settings Menu in App
PrivateVPN provides near-uncrackable AES-256 encryption, the OpenVPN protocol – our personal favorite, and DNS servers operated by PrivateVPN so that your traffic doesn’t take any unexpected diversions.
You can choose to connect using other VPN protocols (PPTP and L2TP) but we don’t recommend them as they don’t provide the same level of security. In fact, PPTP is unsafe to use.
PrivateVPN has a VPN kill switch for Windows to keep you safe if your connection drops, but it’s missing for MacOS and mobile devices, which is disappointing.
Our thorough VPN testing detected no DNS or IPv6 leaks, and you can also use Tor over VPN or TCP Port 443 for even greater security.
Screenshot of leak test results for PrivateVPN PrivateVPN browserleaks.com test results while connected to a US server. We test from the UK.
Logging Policy Strict zero-logging policy mitigates EU jurisdiction
A VPN can’t truly be private unless it has a top-notch, robust logging policy. PrivateVPN claims that it “doesn’t collect or log any traffic or use of its service.”
That’s great – unfortunately, that one quote is also the full extent of it. We’d like the privacy policy to explicitly say that it doesn’t log DNS requests, connection timestamps, or IP addresses, but thankfully a support agent confirmed that PrivateVPN doesn’t collect this data.
Ultimately, we trust PrivateVPN to keep you safe, and you should too, but ideally we look for a little more information and clarification in a privacy policy, just for peace of mind.
Jurisdiction PrivateVPN was founded in 2009 and is owned by Privat Kommunikation AB, which operates under the jurisdiction of Sweden, making it subject to EU data retention laws and intelligence-sharing agreements.
However, PrivateVPN’s zero-logs policy means that even if it was asked to comply with any type of investigation, it doesn’t have any information about its VPN subscribers to give to the authorities, so there’s nothing for users to worry about.
Ease of Use Simple setup and user-friendly custom apps
How to Install & Set Up PrivateVPN Screenshot of PrivateVPN Download Button Go to the downloads section of the PrivateVPN website to begin the installation process.
Screenshot of PrivateVPN Terms and Conditions You have to accept PrivateVPN's terms and conditions before you can install the software.
Screenshot of PrivateVPN Installation Wizard Once you've accepted the terms, the VPN installation wizard will let you know once the installation is complete.
Screenshot of PrivateVPN Completed Installation When the software has been installed, you'll be prompted to restart your machine before you can use the VPN.
Screenshot of PrivateVPN Desktop App Main Screen The desktop VPN client is uncluttered and user-friendly, displaying your new IP address and chosen server location.
Screenshot of PrivateVPN's server list PrivateVPN's server list is arranged in alphabetical order by country name and displays the city name too.
Screenshot of PrivateVPN's streaming servers PrivateVPN makes streaming your favorite shows easy with a list of dedicated VPN servers.
Screenshot of PrivateVPN Protocol Selection You can choose which VPN protocol you want to connect with, but OpenVPN is the default setting.
Screenshot of PrivateVPN Connection Guard The VPN connection guard tab allows you to toggle on/off features such as the kill switch and DNS leak blocking.
Downloading and installing PrivateVPN is incredibly easy and takes only a matter of minutes. There are step-by-step installation guides for loads of popular devices on the website if you need help.
PrivateVPN’s minimalist VPN apps do a great job of keeping things simple while simultaneously showcasing its more advanced features.
The desktop and mobile PrivateVPN apps are very similar in appearance, and everything is clearly labeled and accessible – although mobile users should beware that the Android and iOS versions are missing the kill switch.
PrivateVPN’s apps don’t provide integrated support, either, so newbies or those looking for assistance will need to head online for help.
Customer Support Useful online resources but live chat is inconsistent
Live chat Support Online Resources PrivateVPN does have a live chat help feature on its website, but it’s not available 24/7, which is less than ideal.
The chat box is either red or green depending on whether or not it’s available – there doesn’t seem to be any way to predict exactly when that will or won’t be. When it’s unavailable PrivateVPN brings up an online form instead.
Email replies to the online form are fairly quick, and the support agents are very knowledgable and friendly.
Even if the live chat isn’t active when you need it, PrivateVPN’s online resources and FAQs should be able to see you through most issues.

Why BATMINER is the first mobile farm

Why BATMINER is the first mobile farm
  1. Batminer - is a mobile mining platform that aims to connect mobile devices (and other) around the world into unified mining network.
  2. BATMINER can use android users and windows users. Even with low android phones, tablets - windows pc.Need just register in BATMINER website (batminer.network) and download android app or windows file and keep it online.
  3. New users will be automatically added to your network if you have registered an account and stay active for the last 3 days. The power of your device is also considered. You may also invite your friends to the network. Just ask them to install this app and register in the system. they in turn can connect another 10 devices. This way you have a small network consisting of 100 devices that can bring you from 20 $ to 100 $ per month. The exact amount depends on devices power, cryptocurrency rates, mining network difficulty and other parameters.
Obtained profit calculation by example of small network
Suppose, you built 1 – 10 – 100 network with the average hash rate of 100 h/s for each node. In April 2018 such node’s power brings you about 0.00063 BTC or 5$ per month. So, for 10 nodes at the second level you get 10 * (20% * 5) $ = 10$ per month. For 100 nodes at the third level you get 100 * (20% * 5) $ = 100 $. Suppose, your account has two private devices with the total hash rate 100 h/s. You receive 25% for them or 1.25 $ plus additionally 2% from the whole network. In total your income per month is 1,25 + 10 + 100 + (2% * 111,125) = 113,47 $. Note, all the work boils down to withdrawal of accumulated funds to your bitcoin wallet and checking application status on your device. Not bad? If needed, you can exchange the funds in Maxwell Wallet to fiat money.
According to statistics, each person has on average from 2 to 4 gadgets and the total number of mobile devices exceeds the earth’s population. Thus, we think that a network 1-10-100 is not big. Building such a network should be a relative simple task, if each BatMiner user could connect to his node devices from 10 people.
  1. Batminer has own WALLET - Maxwell Wallet. You can withdraw your earnings in it.
Registration from Android devices
- go to Batminer website (batminer.network) and push button Aptoide- Just write in Aptoide market BATMINER
How to install BatMiner on computers and laptops pls read Batminer FAQ.

Why would my transaction disappear???

Cross posted from a sticky FAQ thread in /bitcoin, figured I'd seek this subreddit because it is more for questions.
What the hell is going on?
I did a transfer of like $5 from my Electrum Wallet into my Coinbase wallet. If I click on the "Details" button on this PENDING transaction on Coinbase, I'm brought to Blockcypher and it says it cannot find a transaction by that hash!
What the hell??????
How do I get my money to coinbase??
I have a second transaction that is $35 waiting to get onto coinbase, and it's been 14 hours, still 0/6 confirmations. The first transaction was done 24 hours ago and disappeared???
Edit: Details more specific to this thread, not supplemented on the original:
The first transaction had a fee of 0.000129 on it, which was apparently low, so I expected it to take a couple of days to be processed.
The second transaction had a fee of 0.0005 on it and I would want it to be done in minutes considering every example transaction I looked up on Blockcypher used that much of a fee or less and got their first confirmations within a minute!
Edit: Viewing the transaction details using Electrum -> Blockchain.info the transaction still exists, just not confirmed. I feel like I've paid enough of a fee, and people keep saying it takes them a couple of days, but still seeing hundreds of transactions being done for smaller fees than I gave really makes me worry that my software is broken or something.
For some backstory: I let my currency go "cold" as my laptop was retired. 4 years later, I dig out the wallet and port the wallet to my new PC. I did a simple copy and paste, and I brought over Electrum 1.9.5 with it (that's what was on the old PC). Turns out 1.9.5 isn't allowed to do transactions and it tells me I need at least Electrum 2.5 to do transactions instead of just watching. So I download portable 2.6.1 (after failing to do portable/installation of both 3.0.0 and 2.9.3) and it launches, but always gives me a runtime error before launch that it's doing something bad with memory access or something.
When I was on 1.9.5, I just went for the full dump of my coins... I hope that didn't fuck something up. I just paid the full transaction (~0.08) and a fee of like 0.001 or something) on 1.9.5 before it told me I needed to upgrade after it attempted to send... my wallet didn't reflect that it lost the money, but my coinbase also didn't acknowledge it received it. Is there some shit luck I had that it turns out you can piss your bitcoins away by using the outdated clients??
Otherwise, my only idea is to send my transaction to a different server. Are there any recommendations regarding that?

Altcoin winner(s) 2018 - sub 1 cent

SUB 1 CENT
We are still looking for potential 2018 altcoin winners, based on the four winners of 2017 (RIPPLE, NEM, ARDOR, STELLAR, all > 14,000%). We did not find anything below 0.0001$, so it’s now below 1 cent.
Our first selection criteria were:
  1. “Cheap and fast (of course) and integration with “official” financial world OR alternative uses of block chain
    1. functional and working website
    2. having a whitepaperoadmap
    3. active development team
    4. active community
    5. at least 1 year old
HTML – Htmlcoin scored 6 out of 6 of the basic criteria, so it was definitely one to take a closer look at.
And the absolute winner of the sub 1 cent group is HTMLcoin. The question is not so much “if” it will go up, it’s “when?” This looks like a very sound investment which imho should rise at least 1000% this year. Could it reach 14,000%? I think that would be very optimistic, but does it have the potential? Yes it has indeed. It would take HTML into the top 20 of market cap today and that is exactly what we are looking for here. Actually, I was extremely surprised to find such a gem between all the rubbish I have been going through the last week and digging deeper and deeper into HTML, I only found more convincing arguments why this should be on our final list. Let’s see why:
After seeing coin after coin and wallet after wallet, this one really stands out. The wallet is nice, fast, and transactions are cheap (most transactions can be processed with 0 fee). Download is easy and the wallet synched fast (< 1 hour), it is a multi wallet (you can send, receive and add hrc tokens as well). Html is hybrid Bitcoin / Ethereum codebase, has smart contracts and decentralized applications features. It works with hybrid Proof of Work and Proof of Stake (pow and pos) and you can stake (1%) and (cpu-)mine in this wallet on your laptop. It only takes 10 to 20% of your cpu when doing so and you can keep it open all the time.
Now what more than a coin and wallet does HTML offer?
“The Html Blockchain platform focuses on the practical applications of smart contracts. It introduces oracle, data feeds, and an identity module from third parties to fulfill the compliance requirements of traditional internet enterprises. It also focuses on decentralized application development. Htmlcoin strives to provide a great number of decentralized applications that can be used in numerous settings by both businesses and individuals.” From whitepaper.
From github: Html embraces POMA (proof of mass adoption): “When we have both the store of value and smart contract/commercial features of the two 'coin families', we have the ability to grow a new and very broad group of users for the coin and its wallet (store of value), and then begin to introduce interesting services to a growing marketplace.
This is where our philosophy is different to many platform coins, who are focused on creating a place for businesses. We don't disagree with this at all, but where we are with the blockchain industry at the moment we need both adoption and cool services, on mobiles and PC's. We believe most people in our industry target one or the other, and not both. “
“The HTMLCOIN ECOSYSTEM Platform is an interactive online platform consisting of companies, freelancers, culture, and natural content. The platform has a comprehensive digital online business directory with super-fast access to the most relevant data about virtually all companies worldwide.”
Beta testing starts this quarter, full release is planned Q2 2018. Now, this gives us a concrete milestone and something to keep an eye on. This could be the possible lift off of HTML.
Now this should be the place where we take a look at technology and competitors. If you are interested in the technology, be my guest and dig deeper. It seems sound to me and HTML isn’t as much about new tech as it is about adoption, usage and being a platform. Based on Qtum code, which would be the main competitor, Htmlcoin is also, on a smaller scale, going to compete with Ethereum on smart contracts and will also compete with other platforms like Waves on token creation, but the real project builds on top of this coin. The dev team is working on a lot of projects like e-learning platforms, platform for freelancers, crowdfunding platform and a platform for medical devices. Having competitors isn’t bad (it keeps you on your toes and you definitely need an active dev team), especially if the potential market is as huge as this one.
Well, as you can see, HTML is more than “just a coin and wallet”.
Projects
Develop an e-learning platform through HTMLCOIN.BUSINESS.
Develop a freelance platform (website + iOS/Android mobile application).
List HTMLCOIN on new exchanges platforms.
Promote HTMLCOIN to the public, freelancers and businesses.
Enhance coin technology (e.g. APIs creation).
Develop crowdfunding platform to help innovative people kick start their product or service.
Develop platform based medical devices with amazing new technologies.
Let’s take a look at the development team. To start we should take a look at html’s history. Html was founded in 2014 and was the target of a 51% attack leading to a huge loss for holders and investors. The old dev team was unable to find a solid solution to fix the problem and so they left this project. Now, a new foundation took over this project. The Htmlcoin Foundation is a non-profit organization established in Chicago in September 2017. The purpose of the Foundation is to continue to develop the Html Blockchain through the use of transparent governance, and to promote the philosophies and values of the open source community to which it owes so much.”
Posted in reddit (from dev team): “Firstly, we are here for the long run and you won't see any lambo, or buy signals from the core team. .. In fact, we see the foundation as a software company. We build and maintain the software which is used to run the decentralised blockchain and all its features. The foundation sells nothing, and has nothing to do with the exchange activities.” I think this is a very healthy way to do things.
What more can I say? Nice website, white paper and roadmap (with clear upcoming events), active dev team and community, and they have been around for some time, learning from past mistakes.
The white paperoadmap is very comprehensive, a must read for investor, and can be found here:
https://htmlcoincom-pfxdtfqnnxx.stackpathdns.com/inc/uploads/2017/10/Htmlcoin-White-Paper-V.5-For-Public-Release.pdf

Now ending this (as kind of disclaimer) I should admit that I took a small position in HTML. Presently it is on 3 exchanges and I had no problems buying it. Anything negative about HTML? First of all would be its name. I think a coin should have an easy and memorable name, and HTML has a problematic past so it should have used the swap from the old coin to change it. That has not been done and it keeps away some potential investors. Secondly, they have a great dev team that kind of works on the side, on its own, apart from being worried by price and market. That is a pro, but communication with the community could be better. It seems they are working on that and that it will improve.
Now let’s take a look at number 2: ESP – ESPERS (scored 5 out of 6 of the basic criteria).
The score 5 out of 6 seemed quite promising and I was really hoping we could boost that score after taking a closer look. That did not happen and I would be more inclined to lower it. There is potential here, but to make it work it will have to show quite a bit in the coming months and it should be more than only hype. Technically it could wind up with a 14,000% gain but it would be a long shot to expect it this year. Will it be a good investment for 2018? If the development team delivers, this would be a great year for esp and the plans are on the table, but let’s take a closer look before reaching any conclusions.
Starting with its wallet, is it fast and cheap? Yes it is. Installing is not so easy (if you use the snapshot), but doable for everybody who has installed wallets before. Esper is hybrid Proof of Work and Proof of Stake, but you cannot mine from your wallet as in htmlcoin. Staking (25% this year) is easily done though from your wallet, and the buttons for messaging and site-on-chain are there with the “coming soon” message (which I hate personally). Basically you can send and receive esp for now. The first (and maybe only?) thing you notice and find about esp is the high staking premium. So is it just a coin and a wallet?
The main focus of espers is to be a blockchain project with the goal of offering secured websites and messaging on the chain. Clearly this is a huge market with lots of room for expansion and that is an alternative use of the block chain. The roadmap states:
Q1 – 2018: WhitePaper, Mobile Wallet, Lightweight Client
Q2 – 2018: Xnodes, Sidechains, Mailing System
Q3 – 2018: ChainApps, CrossChain, SiteOnChain
That sounds promising, so the future should be bright for esp? Hmm, that would greatly depend on the tech development. The roadmap is clear, but the whitepaper should bring a lot more clearness. This should depend greatly on de development team, cryptocoders (cryptocoderz.com). This is a partly anonymous group that does not inspire as much trust as for instance the html dev group. They are presently involved in 6 projects: espers, 020london, binary, hiro, gram and insane. As such it gives more the impression of a pump and dumb group, but the have developed and implemented some things:
• VRX (an altcoin difficulty retarget system that, utilizing a several block depth scan, quickly adapts the implemented blockchain/altcoin's mining or minting difficulty levels to ensure a narrow window around the desired block time) system is still not widely tested or used and currently can only be found in Espers [ESP] and INSaNE [INSANE] blockchain projects
• Velocity is a blockchain constraint protocol system that acts as a tripple check to ensure that blocks that are submitted to the blockchain are valid (Espers and Insane)
So the big question is: can these guys deliver? As to safe websites and messaging on blockchain? Possibly, but even if they can, there will be a lot of competition, so it better be really good. Could it reach 14,000% in 2018? I would say the possibilities are very small. There is a potentially good idea, but for now it is a cheap and fast coin, a good wallet with staking, a mining opportunity and little more.
I made a small investment in this coin though and I will be eagerly waiting for the whitepaper and news about the xnodes. If that goes well, I’ll reconsider.
I was asked to reconsider ECC and wait for the new website. Well the website is there, but it did not change my overall opinion. They do have a whitepaper (as opposed to esp). Features such as file storage and messaging sound the same as in esp. New is the name resolution (self-chosen nickname instead of a long difficult wallet address) which seems like something unique. But I see a lot of “coming soon” and “under construction”. Actually, they look alike a lot, esp and ecc and comparing them I would even be more inclined towards ecc. But both should have to prove in the near future to be more than only a coin and a wallet. Q2 should be the time to take another look at them, and for now maybe take a small position just in case …
So out of a lot of choices we have 1 clear candidate with at least a possibility to make it, HTMLcoin, and 2 to keep an eye on and reevaluate during Q2.

Browser adds feature to defend against cryptocurrency mining scripts

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 26%. (I'm a bot)
Opera has rolled out a new version of its web browser which adds protection from being crypto-jacked.
Crypto-jacking is a relatively new phenomenon whereby websites run scripts which hijack CPU resources from the visitor's computer in order to mine cryptocurrency.
Opera version 50 now has an anti-cryptocurrency mining feature built into its ad blocker.
The feature uses the 'NoCoin' list of cryptocurrency mining scripts when it comes to enacting blocking, and that list is updated regularly.
Krystian Kolondra, head of Desktop Browser at Opera, commented: "Everyone knows the feeling of the computer heating up, the fan starting to go crazy and the CPU going to 100% for seemingly no reason. These are all signs someone might be mining Bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies on your computer."
Along with the new cryptocurrency hijacking prevention measures, Opera 50 adds VR360 support for Oculus, and Chromecast support to allow streaming from the desktop browser straight to your TV.Our best laptops can be used for so much more than surfing the net.

SSD Prices Skyrocket As NAND Shortage Deepens, HDD Shortage Looms As Components Become Scarce

This is an automatic summary, original reduced by 84%.
An increase in smartphone capacity, SSDs in laptops, and a terrible transition to 3D NAND led to SSDs prices that are unquestionably on the rise, and if HDDs also rise at the same time, it could lead to the perfect storm of higher storage prices.
Samsung intends to triple its enterprise SSD output in the next two years, and satisfying the server OEMs is probably more important, but it is exacerbating the NAND shortage in the retail market.
Instead, Trendfocus reported that the HDD and component companies are reallocating resources to account for demand in the high-capacity enterprise segment, which leads to less focus on other segments, such as consumer HDDs. The tightness in components and production could lead to reduced HDD supply, which would result in higher prices.
It's unclear if the recent SSD shortages and higher prices spurred the HDD resurgence last quarter, some of which did come in the notebook and PC segment, but the continued rise in SSD prices will certainly push more to purchase HDDs. This could become a vicious cycle if HDDs become scarce.
We won't see the NAND shortage recede until WD/Toshiba get BiCS 3D NAND production into full swing, but the company still has to qualify its 64-layer NAND with OEMs, which might drag out the process until mid-to-late next year.
Many analysts are predicting SSD prices to increase 20-25% over the next few months, so if you plan to buy an SSD or HDD, the time is now.
